'Suspicious' Man Not So Suspicious, Police Say

Hatboro Police determined that an attempted child luring incident was not so.

What appeared to be an attempted child luring on Tuesday was determined to be nothing more than a misunderstanding by Wednesday, according to Hatboro Police.

Interviews conducted by police on Wednesday determined that the man driving the truck was talking on a cell phone when the child heard the comment "Do you want a ride"?

Police said it was quite possible that the man's comment was not directed at the child, but rather part of the telephone conversation and overheard by the child.

Regardless, police commended the child and his family for notifying police of something they believed to be suspicious. Residents are always encouraged to report suspicious occurrences to police via 9-1-1.
