Storm Causes Problems in Hatboro

Last night's storms took down trees and left Hatboro residents in the dark.

Severe storms ripped through the area Thursday night bringing lightning, strong winds and heavy rain. The quick moving storm also brought down trees and power lines in Hatboro.

Police reported that the strong storms knocked out power to about one-third of Hatboro’s homes. Officials said the power and a majority of the storm damage was cleared by midnight.

A tree that fell on live wires on the property on  caused residents to see the wire arcing and requiring police and members of the fire company to secure the scene. By early Friday morning the line was still down and live. Police who roped off the area said the line was a low priority for backlogged PECO because it was not causing any outages.
