Red Cross Aids Fire Victims

A Hatboro family of three was in need of shelter following a fire Friday.

The American Red Cross is aiding a Hatboro family of three whose Bright Road home was deemed uninhabitable following a fire Friday afternoon.

Enterprise Fire Co. Chief Keith Gordon said the fire, which broke out at 4:23 p.m. and took 20 minutes to bring under control, left the home with "pretty extensive" smoke and water damage to the first and second floors.

The home is uninhabitable, according to Gordon.

There were no injuries and the fire–which Gordon said is under investigation–was contained within the home, he said.

American Red Cross Spokesman Dave Schrader said in a tweet Friday evening that the agency helped the borough family of three with food, clothing and shelter following the fire.

Besides Enterprise, fire companies from Horsham, Willow Grove, Hartsville, Southampton, Roslyn and Warminster assisted, according to Gordon. Second Alarmers Rescue Squad also assisted, he said.
