Police Seek Man Who Robbed Hatboro Store at Gunpoint

The robbery occurred at Burdick's in the 200 block of York Road just before 1 p.m.

Police are searching for a suspect described as a black male who is said to have robbed at gunpoint Friday afternoon. 

Hatboro Police said the robbery of the store, which is located in the 200 block of South York Road, occurred at approximately 12:41 p.m. 

Police said the man entered the store and produced a black-colored handgun, demanded money and ordered the three workers and one customer to the rear of the store. He then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The subject is described as a black male with light-colored skin, tall, thin build with facial hair. He was last seen wearing a red plaid flannel jacket, with a black hooded sweatshirt underneath, dark gray-colored pants, a dark knit cap and grey sneakers.

Police located security camera footage that captured images of the suspect arriving at the store from the north. The man was riding a mountain bicycle and parked same in a driveway to the south of the store. After robbing the business, police said the subject exited the store and fled on the bicycle in a southwest direction.   

 is located relatively close to the scene of the robbery and was placed under lock-down for a short period of time as a precaution. Although students were not in school today, staff were present in the building.

Hatboro Police, assisted by officers from Upper Moreland, Horsham and a canine team from Warminster Police, searched the area for the subject.

The man is considered armed and dangerous. If the subject is seen, persons should contact the police immediately and not approach. Anyone with information on this subject or this incident should immediately contact Sgt. Cameron Goold of the  at 215-675-2832.
