UPDATE: Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Train in Hatboro

Coroner rules a 31-year-old Hatboro woman committed suicide.

A 31-year-old woman was struck by a SEPTA commuter train in Hatboro, near where a Warrington man committed suicide early Saturday following a , officials said.

Montgomery County coroner Dr. Walter I. Hofman ruled that the woman, who he identified Wednesday as Amber Witkowsky, of Hatboro, committed suicide. Hofman said her autopsy revealed that she died of multiple injuries related to being hit by the train.

Hatboro Police Chief James Gardner said Witkowsky was struck and killed by a southbound SEPTA commuter train along the railroad tracks between Meadowbrook Avenue and East Montgomery Avenue at about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Despite the close proximity, Gardner said "there is no indication" that the woman's death was in any way related to the early Saturday morning suicide of Christopher Moyer, who authorities said laid across the train tracks after bludgeoning his wife and son to death at their Warrington home. Following Hofman's ruling on the cause of death, Gardner said Wednesday that Hatboro Police have concluded their investigation.

Tuesday's fatality caused SEPTA service on the line north of Willow Grove to be halted as authorities investigated the death, police said.

Members from the county coroner's office responded to the scene shortly before 9 p.m. and were expected to be on-scene "for awhile," said one official.

Investigators and SEPTA workers combed the tracks trying to look for clues to piece together what happened. Emergency vehicles were blocking Meadowbrook Avenue by the tracks and more were spotted on Jacksonville Road in the vicinity of the train station.

Members of Hatboro's and Willow Grove Fire Company assisted SEPTA officials, the Montgomery County Coroner's Office and Hatboro Police.
