NJ Man Charged with Writing Bad Checks

Hatboro Police arrested a man who allegedly tried to cash fraudulent checks.

A Burlington, N.J. man is facing charges for allegedly trying to cash fraudulent checks at a Hatboro business. 

Matthew M. Liss, 31, was arrested and charged on July 22 at 6:31 p.m. with bad checks and related offenses when police said he attempted to cash phony checks at a South York Road business. 

He was arraigned before District Justice Harry Nesbitt of Horsham and was incarcerated at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.

Liss' arrest came on the same day as a similar arrest in Horsham Township. In that instance, two out-of-state residents were charged in connection with an alleged scheme to buy Giant Food gift cards with bogus checks.
