Police investigate burglaries on Beatrice Avenue.

A home in the 200 block of Beatrice Avenue was burglarized Friday and another in the vicinity had incurred an attempted break-in, Horsham Police said. 

Police said the suspect had entered the basement of one of the homes by cutting a screen to a basement window in the rear of the residence. Another home close by was entered after glass was removed from a basement window frame at the rear of the home. Money and prescription medicine was removed from the home that had been entered, according to police. 

Thomas Patterson, 26, was arrested on Sunday and charged with burglary, theft and unauthorized use of an auto. The alleged theft occurred in the 100 block of Parkway Road in Horsham, police said.

Around 5:50 p.m., a subject called advising that the suspect, was seen around a vehicle that was not owned by him. Officers responded and were able to stop Peterson in the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that there was allegedly property inside the vehicle that was owned by the owner of the car. Police said the home had also been broken into and that the homeowners were not at home at the time.
