A Horsham man is facing Driving Under the Influence charges stemming from a one-vehicle crash in Lower Moreland.

Michael J. Wood, 41, of Leary Drive in Horsham, was arrested on Aug. 28 following a 10:43 p.m. crash in which Wood's Chevrolet Blazer plowed into a stone wall at the end of the Fetters Mill Road bridge, at the opening of Pennypack Road in Lower Moreland Township.

He faces charges of DUI, possession of a controlled substance and related offenses pending the outcome of lab results.

Police said Wood sustained a small laceration to his upper lip as a result of the crash, but refused medical treatment.

Wood had "slurred speech and his eyes appeared glassy," according to police. Wood had marijuana in his possession, as well as a glass smoking pipe, police said.

He admitted to drinking earlier in the night, according to police. A preliminary breath test indicated a level of 0.083 percent, police said.

Police said he also admitted to taking morphine and several other prescription drugs for "health issues." Police allegedly found six Adderall pills in his possession as well.

Wood refused to give a blood sample for testing, according to police.
