Horsham Girl Sustains Burns in Campfire

The 10-year-old was flown to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.

A 10-year-old Horsham girl sustained second and third degree burns on her arm and elbow after falling into a campfire at her father's home Sunday evening.

Horsham Fire Marshal George Fida said the girl, whose name was not released, had been sitting in a plastic lawn chair around a fire pit Sunday around 6:34 p.m. when the accident occurred.

"The chair broke and she fell into the fire pit," Fida said.

She was flown to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. Fida said on Monday afternoon that he did not know her condition, or if she was still in the hospital.

"There's no evidence of any foul play or anything," Fida said of the incident, which he described as "just a bad accident."
