Hatboro Police Seek Community's Help with Thefts

Couple suspected of tricking restaurant staff and stealing money from cash register, money stolen from bags at Hatboro Memorial Pool.

Hatboro Police are hoping the public can provide clues to a recent theft at a York Road restaurant, as well as several instances where cash was stolen from personal bags at . 

On July 8 at 10:12 p.m., police said a white male and white female, both described as being in their early 20s, deliberately distracted staff at a restaurant in the 40 block of S. York Road and fled with an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. Police said the pair yelled that they saw something move or run toward the back of the restaurant and continued yelling and insisting that staff check the area.

Once employees were near the back of the kitchen area, the police said the male suspect reached over the counter, opened the register and grabbed cash. Both subjects then fled the restaurant.

The man was described as follows: white male in his early 20s, 5’9”-5’10”, with dirty blonde hair thinning on top, wearing a red 2009 Phillies shirt. The woman was described as follows: white female, in her early 20s, medium/heavy build, wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and a gold necklace with a heart-shaped pendant.

Thefts from Hatboro Memorial Pool 

On Thursday officers opened an investigation into thefts occurring at the Hatboro Memorial Pool on West Moreland Avenue. Investigation revealed that on July 7, July 12, and July 13, cash had been stolen from unsecured personal bags at the complex. Anyone with information about the thefts or who has observed suspicious activity at the complex is asked to call the Hatboro Police at 215-675-2832.
