Hatboro Police Seek Cigarette Bandit

A couple was arrested for having sex in plain view of people at Memorial Park.

The man initially fooled the clerk into believing he paid for the two cartons of Newport cigarettes and snacks, but  said video surveillance showed that the items were stolen from the Hatboro .  

The black male, who police said was wearing a black hat, white long sleeve shirt and blue jeans, allegedly stole the cigarettes, a pretzel, Ruffles chips and a Peanut Chew, which cost $120.95, from the store on June 29 at 1:35 a.m.

Matthew Fulforth, 21, of Horsham, and Melissa Anne Hollerbach, 22, of Hatboro, were arrested on June 16 at 4:20 p.m. for allegedly having sex in the field at on West Monument Avenue. 

Police said the sex act was being committed in plain view of numerous onlookers at the park and adjacent .

Fulforth and Hollerbach were released from custody pending a summons to court for indecent exposure, open lewdness, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness.

Public drunkenness

  • Dana D. Zeitz, 24 of Horsham, was arrested on June 16, at 3:55 a.m., and cited for public drunkenness when an officer allegedly found her intoxicated in a parked vehicle in the 200 block of South York Road.
  • Joseph S. Mueller, 26, of Hatboro was arrested on June 16 at 1:42 a.m., and cited for public drunkenness when he was found intoxicated and lying on the ground in a parking lot in the 40 block of South York Road.
  • David Karlin, 27, of Huntingdon Valley, and Gabrielle F. Kopan, 22, of Philadelphia, were arrested on June 10, at 4:07 a.m., and cited for public drunkenness when they were allegedly found intoxicated in a vehicle parked in a parking lot in the 40 block of South York Road.

Disorderly conduct

Jonathan Blatz, 34, of Hatboro, was cited for disorderly conduct on June 13, at 5:53 p.m. after police said he caused a disturbance at the Hatboro on North York Road and repeatedly screamed obscenities in front of customers, including children.

Warrant service

On Wednesday, June 13th, at 8:32am, Paul D. Deer, 32 years old, from Hatboro, was arrested on a Bucks County Bench Warrant when he was located at Hatboro’s District Court where he was present for an unrelated matter.  He was subsequently released to the custody of the Bucks County Sheriff’s Department. 

Theft

On June 11 a resident in the 400 block of Springdale Avenue discovered a lockbox had been stolen from his home sometime since May 23. The box contained various documentation, but no valuables.

DUI/accident

Colleen M. McEachern, 51, of Warrington, was arrested on June 1 at 1 a.m., and charged with Driving Under the Influence and related traffic offenses when the vehicle she was driving struck a utility pole in the 30 block of Byberry Road.

Burglary (residential)

On June 9, between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., someone entered a home in the 200 block of Lancaster Avenue through an unlocked rear door. Once inside, they stole a significant amount of jewelry. Police did recover several pieces of physical evidence which are being processed.
