An alleged thief apparently munched on Italian bread while stealing tools from a truck in Hatboro.

Retail theft/public drunkenness

On Oct. 25 at 7 p.m., officers investigated a theft of gasoline that occurred at the gas station at 201 S. York Road. Investigation revealed a female subject pumped $20 worth of gas into her car and drove off without paying for it.

At 10:14 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance on Village Place involving an intoxicated subject at a residence. Officers realized the intoxicated subject closely resembled the description of the female from the theft of the gasoline three hours earlier. Police said the subject, Jacqueline E. Barone, 22, of Hatboro, subsequently admitted she was the one who stole the gasoline. As a result, she was cited for public drunkenness for her involvement in the disturbance, and retail theft for stealing the gasoline earlier in the night.

  • On Oct. 25, between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., someone stole a laptop computer, computer case, and laptop accessories (charger, 4G card, etc) from the trunk of a car parked in the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue. The victim was unsure of the make or model of the stolen items but estimated their replacement value at approximately $1,500. The car’s trunk was left standing open when the theft occurred.
  • Sometime overnight between Oct. 20, and Oct. 21, someone entered an unlocked tool box in the bed of a pick-up truck parked in the unit block of Mill Road and stole $60 worth of Snap-on screw drivers. A loaf of Italian bread was also in the bed of the truck that appeared to have had several bites taken out of it by the actor(s).

Criminal trespass

Sometime between Oct. 19, and Oct. 22, someone entered a garage and a vacant building at a property on South York Road. The actor(s) entered the garage by breaking a padlock and entry to the building was gained by kicking in the door.  Nothing was found missing from either building.

Theft (retail)

On Oct. 18 an antique clock with an estimated value of approximately $300 was stolen from inside a retail business in the 50 block of South York Road. The owner of the store believes the theft occurred sometime during business hours, but the actual theft was not witnessed by anyone.

Driving Under the Influence

Andrew T. McCloskey, 24, of Hatboro, was arrested on Oct. 18 at 2:39 a.m., for Driving Under the Influence and related traffic offenses when he was stopped in the area of York Road and County Line Road after an officer observed him commit various lane violations while traveling on York Road.
