Theft, vandalism and public drunkenness top list of crimes

Vehicle Theft

On March 11, sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., a blue 1999 Ford Taurus station wagon that was parked at the Hatboro Train Station at 21 S. Penn Street was stolen.

Sometime between March 5 and March 6, someone cut the convertible top on a 2001 Ford Mustang and stole the vehicle’s Pioneer car stereo while it was parked in a parking lot in the 20 block of North York Road.  The stereo has a replacement value of approximately $350 and the convertible top is expected to cost approximately $400 to repair.

On March 6, at approximately 12:21 p.m., while investigating a disturbance in the 300 block of North York Road, officers arrested Christopher S. Lodge, 19, of Hatboro, on a Hatboro District Court bench warrant for failure to pay fines.  He was released from custody after posting $382.25 to cover back fines. 

Criminal Mischief

Sometime over the weekend between March 4 and March 7, someone used a rock to smash the rear window of a Hatboro Public Works truck that was parked in the 400 block of Oakdale Avenue. The window is expected to cost approximately $300 to replace.

Public Drunkenness

On March 2, at 8:02 p.m., Howard H. McConnell III, 59, of Hatboro, was arrested and cited for public drunkenness when he was found intoxicated and lying in the front yard of a residence in the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue. He had bench warrants from Hatboro’s District Court for failure to pay fines and was incarcerated at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility after failing to post $1,000 bail.

Warrant Service

On Feb. 28, at 10:36 a.m., following a court hearing on an unrelated matter at Hatboro’s District Court, Eugene D. Burns, 53, of Warminster, was arrested on an active Montgomery County Bench Warrant.  He was released to the custody of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department.
