Tobacco sales to minors, Thefts, DUIs and more reported by the Hatboro Police Department.

Sale of tobacco to minors

Doris Maibely Erazo-Ramirez, 31, of Hatboro, was cited for sale of tobacco to minors on Jan. 10 at 2:58 p.m. after police said she sold cigarettes to a 17-year-old.

The had been conducting a tobacco compliance check at at 41 S. York Road after receiving information about sales to minors allegedly taking place at the store. Erazo-Ramirez was also arrested and taken into custody on a warrant from Immigration and Customs Enforcement. She was then incarcerated at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

Warrant service

  • Charles Mcafferty III, 47, of Hatboro, was arrested on Jan. 8 at 9:19 p.m. on a Philadelphia Police arrest warrant for aggravated assault and related offenses when he was located on Spring Street. He was released to the custody of the Philadelphia Police Department.
  • David B. Meyers Jr., 41, of Horsham, was arrested on Jan. 3 at 2:45 p.m., on an arrest warrant from Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department for assault and related offenses when he came to the for an unrelated matter. He was released to the custody of officers from Pocono Mountain Police.

Criminal mischief

  • On Jan. 8 obscene graffiti was found on playground equipment and signs at the on West Monument Avenue. The graffiti was removed by the Public Works Department.
  • Sometime during the early morning hours on Jan. 7, the paint was damaged on a 1994 Audi that was parked in the 200 block of North Penn Street when someone struck it with numerous eggs. 
  • Sometime overnight between Jan. 5 and Jan. 6, someone smashed the windshield on a 2003 Chevrolet truck that was parked in the 400 block of Jacksonville Road.
  • On Dec. 27, the owner of a 1999 Ford Expedition that was parked in the 300 block of Crooked Billet Road found all four tires were cut/slashed. The tires were purchased only a month earlier for $750.

Theft

  • Dane Edward Sarden, 21, of Willow Grove and Quinten Isaiah Watts, 22, of Willow Grove, were arrested on Jan. 6 at 10:49 a.m. for theft and receiving stolen property after officers responded to a report of subjects stealing items from the rear of a business in the 300 block of Jacksonville Road. Following processing, they were released from custody pending a summons.

The suspects were gone when officers arrived and police said they stole numerous metal items such as pipe and steel beams. Officers then began checking scrap metal processing centers and a short time later, located the suspects attempting to sell the stolen items at a nearby scrap metal yard. 

  • On Jan. 5, an employee of a commercial business in the 40 block of North York Road discovered $26 was stolen from her coat pocket during her shift while the coat was hanging inside the business.

DUI

  • Sandra Scott, 48, of Hatboro, was arrested on Jan. 4 at 9:11 p.m. and charged with Driving Under the Influence and related traffic offenses when she was stopped on Moreland Avenue near Chester Avenue after she made a left turn directly in front of a police car nearly causing a collision with the officer.   
  • Karina L. Carden, 49, of Hatboro, was arrested on Dec. 31, at 1:30 p.m., and charged with Driving Under the Influence and related traffic offenses when an officer stopped her vehicle on Bon Air Avenue after observing her crossing into oncoming traffic lanes.

 Public drunkenness/underage drinking

Tony Michael Donnelly, 27, of Hatboro, was arrested and cited for public drunkenness, and Jessica M. Miller, 20, of Richboro, was arrested and cited for underage drinking on Dec. 31 at 2:10 a.m. after officers investigated a disturbance in a parking lot in the 40 block of South York Road.
