Hatboro Police Blotter

Police report various thefts, including a church basket, American flags, a bistro table and chairs, and jewelry.

The following information is provided by Hatboro Police Department.

Theft

  • On Aug. 21, the on Byberry Avenue reported someone stole a brass Ambrey valued at approximately $500.
  • Sometime overnight between Aug. 11, and Aug. 12, someone stole a 24-foot Freightliner box truck from an industrial complex in the 200 block of East County Line Road. The truck was recovered abandoned in Philadelphia on Aug. 18, but was missing various equipment that was contained inside it when it was stolen. An estimate of the cost of the stolen property was not provided by the owner.
  • On Aug. 15, a resident in the 100 block of South York Road reported someone stole two chairs and a table from the rear of her apartment. The black iron bistro set has an estimated replacement cost of $120.
  • On Aug. 15, a resident in the 30 block of Fulmor Avenue reported someone stole approximately 15 small, decorative American flags from her yard.
  • On Aug. 13, a resident of Hatters Court reported sometime overnight someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole an Acer laptop computer, a Verizon cell phone, and a Right Way GPS unit. An estimate of the financial loss from this incident is not available.
  • Sometime overnight between Aug. 1 and Aug. 2, someone stole three bicycles and inline skates from a residential property on Lantern Lane. The total financial loss from the incident is approximately $1,300.

Underage drinking

  • Clifford J. Schmider, 18, of Hatboro, was cited for underage drinking On Aug. 23, at 2 p.m., after an officer on patrol observed him discard a partially consumed can of beer onto someone’s lawn as he walked South Chester Avenue.
  • On Aug. 6, at 8:02 p.m., a 16-year-old Hatboro girl was cited for underage drinking and public drunkenness after her parents called 911 to report she was intoxicated, belligerent, and walking away from them on Fulmor Avenue.

Disorderly conduct

On Aug. 20 at 9 p.m., a 17-year-old Horsham boy was arrested and cited for disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, and underage drinking after officers responded to a disturbance in the area of Summit and Windsor Avenues.

Criminal mischief

On Aug. 18, the owner of a commercial business on West Moreland Avenue near Penn Street reported that someone had attempted to force entry to a box truck parked at the business by prying open a vent window. Entry was not gained, but the window was damaged and cost $83 to repair.

Warrant service

Bryan J. Dubeck, 19, of Hatboro, was arrested on Aug. 17 at 11:37 p.m. on an active Montgomery County Bench Warrant when he turned himself in at the Hatboro Police Station. He was turned over to the custody of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department.

Burglary (residential)

On Aug. 13, sometime between 7 a.m. and noon, someone entered an unlocked apartment in the 30 block of East Moreland Avenue and stole prescription medication and a jewelry box containing jewelry. An estimate of the financial loss from this incident is not yet available.

Borough Ordinance (Dog Law)

Jennifer Jackson, 30, of Hatboro, was cited on Aug. 9, for Borough Ordinance, dog running at large, when her two dogs were found running loose in the neighborhood for the second time in three days.

Harassment

Patrick M. Joyce, 43, of Hatboro, was cited On Aug. 7, at 4:44 p.m., for harassment after he shoved a 20-year-old Hatboro man during a disturbance in the 300 block of West Moreland Avenue.

Criminal mischief (vehicles)

Overnight between Aug. 5 and Aug. 6, someone smashed the rear window of a 1995 Toyota in the 70 block of Horsham Road by throwing a large concrete parking block through it. A 2000 Dodge in the 200 block of South Chester Avenue also had its rear window smashed with a large landscaping rock. Witnesses located the next day reported observing a large group of juveniles in the area walking past when a loud crash was heard and one even reported observing a juvenile in the victim’s driveway about the same time. No one called police until the owners awakened and discovered the damage in the morning. The windows are expected to cost approximately $600 each to replace. 

Fugitive from justice

On Aug. 5, at 2:52 a.m., an officer on patrol observed a suspicious subject at the on South York Road and stopped him to investigate. The subject, Devon Ray Rambo, 39, no fixed address, was discovered to be wanted in numerous jurisdictions including armed robbery in Colorado and vehicle theft in South Carolina. As a result, he was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice. 

He was arraigned by District Justice Paul Leo of Hatboro and was incarcerated at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $100,000 cash bail to await extradition to the other states.
