Police make arrests for individuals who failed to appear in court, others alleged to have been drunk in public.

Hatboro Police spent Fourth of July weekend making several arrests for warrant service for individuals who failed to appear in court. 

Warrant service

  • Scott C. Gilchrist, 21, of Morrisville, was arrested on Saturday, at 9:01 a.m., on a Bucks County bench warrant for failure to appear in court when he was stopped for speeding in the 400 block of North York Road. He was released to the custody of the Bucks County Sheriff’s Department.
  • Paul M. Overwise, 19, of Hatboro, was arrested on Friday, at 1:12 p.m., on a Montgomery County bench warrant for failure to appear in court after officers called him and requested he respond to the police station for an unrelated matter. He was released to the custody of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department.
  • Michael A. Ritchie, 49, of Hatboro, was arrested on Friday, at 11:06 a.m., on a Bucks County bench warrant for failure to appear in court when an officer on patrol observed him standing on the sidewalk in the 40 block of South York Road. He was released to the custody of the Bucks County Sheriff’s Department.

Albert J. Wesselt, 67, of Hatboro, on Thursday, was summoned to court for harassment for repeatedly calling 911 for non-emergency reasons.

Public drunkenness/disorderly conduct

  • Joel L. Nieves, 25, of Abington, was arrested on June 25, at 11:31 p.m., and cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct when he was found intoxicated and screaming obscenities in the 100 block of South York Road.
  • Kimberly C. Shirley, 25, of Hatboro, was arrested on June 25, at 11:07 a.m., and cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after she removed the keys from the ignition in a vehicle she was the passenger of and walked away leaving its operator and the vehicle stuck in the roadway and blocking the intersection of Moreland Avenue and York Road.

Keith Heiselmoyer, 27, of Warminster, on June 24, at 11:51 p.m., after an officer on patrol allegedly saw him causing a disturbance in the area of York Road and Monument Avenue.
