Hatboro Police Blotter

Several reports of thefts from locked, unlocked vehicles.

The following information was provided by the Hatboro Police Department.

Theft from vehicle 

  • Sometime overnight between Thursday and Friday, someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the 200 block of West Moreland Avenue and stole a bag containing numerous personal items. The bag and contents were discovered abandoned in the rear parking lot of stores on South York Road and the owner sustained no loss as a result.
  • Sometime overnight between Thursday and Friday someone entered a vehicle parked in the 100 block of South York Road and stole a Blue Tooth device and spare keys. The owner was unsure if the vehicle was locked or not, but no signs of forced entry were evident. The total loss from the incident is approximately $100.
  • On May 29 sometime between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., someone stole a Compaq Presario laptop from a car parked on Fulmor Avenue near York Road. The vehicle was locked, however, the windows were partially down which permitted access. The computer has an estimated replacement value of approximately $300.
  • On May 28, sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m., police said someone cut and removed the catalytic converter from a 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander that was parked at the Hatboro train station. The catalytic converter has an estimated replacement cost of $1,000.

Public drunkenness/disorderly conduct

Jean Schwartz, 24, of Hatboro, was arrested and cited at 2:56 a.m. on Thursday for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness when officers responded to a disturbance in the 50 block of East Moreland Avenue.

David A. Fernandez, 24, of Hatboro, was arrested and cited at 3:35 a.m. on May 28 for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct when he was found intoxicated and caused a disturbance in the area of West Moreland Avenue and Orchard Road.

Criminal mischief (vehicle)

  • Sometime overnight between Wednesday and Thursday police said someone scratched/keyed a 2003 Ford truck that was parked in the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue. The truck sustained damage to both sides and custom graphics and it is expected to cost approximately $2,000 to repair. 
  •  On Wednesday police said someone scratched/keyed a 2004 Honda that was parked in the 200 block of West Moreland Avenue. The vehicle sustained scratches along most of its passenger side. An estimate of the cost to repair the damage is not available. 

Warrant service

Michael D. Jones, 47, of Warminster, was arrested at 2:22 p.m. on Wednesday on bench warrants from Warminster’s District Court for failure to appear in court. Jones was stopped for a registration violation on East County Line Road. He was cited for the registration violation and released to the custody of Bucks County constables.
