Hatboro Man Threatens to Tattoo Swastika on Woman's Forehead: Police

A tattoo artist allegedly assaulted a woman in a Horsham hotel room, threatened to strangle her and tattoo a swastika on her face, according to police.

A 33-year-old Hatboro man is behind bars after threatening to tattoo a swastika on a woman's forehead, according to Horsham Police.

Clinten Lawrence McClain, a tattoo artist, was arrested on Dec. 22 and charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, false imprisonment and harassment.

Horsham Police responded to the Days Inn, located in the 200 block of Easton Road, when guests complained of hearing a man and woman arguing from inside a hotel room. When officers arrived, they heard the woman scream and plead for the man to stop, police said.

McClain answered the door when officers arrived, appeared agitated and seemed to be under the influence of drugs, according to police.

A woman, who was crying, was escorted out of the hotel room, police said. She alleged that McClain was physically violent and threatened to strangle and kill her and her mother, according to police.

She said she was punched in the face, and forced to sit on the end of the bed quietly, or McClain said he would tie a lamp cord around her neck, police said.

The woman claimed she was knocked to the ground, held down, as McClain allegedly placed a tattoo machine to her face, claiming he was going to tattoo a swastika on her forehead, according to police. The woman said she pleaded with McClain not to tattoo her, and he eventually let her off the ground, but began running the tattoo machine across his chest and stomach, according to police.

The woman said she attempted to get the telephone at one point, but McClain noticed, and ripped the phone wires out of the wall, police said. He then heated the wires to his tattoo machine with a lighter and burned her arm with them, according to police.

McClain had crushed pills and a “rock type” object and then snorted it, which made him more violent, police said. When she tried to exit the room, police said McClain knocked her down and hit her in the arms, legs, head, chest and back.

Police noted injuries consistent with the allegation.

McClain is being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 bail. He awaits a preliminary hearing tentatively set for Jan. 14.
