Hatboro Man Receives 3 Years Probation

Dylan Staines pleaded guilty for three separate offenses, including thefts from cars, underage drinking and open lewdness.

After admitting to stealing items from cars, mooning fellow Upper Moreland High School students and consuming alcohol, a Hatboro teen was sentenced to three years probation and must complete 240 hours of community service, according to an article.

Dylan M. Staines, 19, of the 500 block of Preston Lane, pleaded guilty to the offenses last week. In addition to probation and community service, Staines must pay a $1,000 fine. 

Staines, of the Hatboro section of Upper Moreland Township, was  and charged with five counts of theft from a motor vehicle; three counts of receiving stolen property; possession of a controlled substance; loitering and prowling at night time; and disorderly conduct stemming from thefts from vehicles on Feb. 27. Police said a majority of the stolen property was recovered during the investigation.

At the time of his arrest, police had said five cars had been entered and various items were stolen including cassette tapes, fuel cards, cologne, prescription medication, a stereo face plate and prescription glasses.

In addition to the thefts from vehicles, Staines admitted to mooning physical education students at Upper Moreland High School on May 6, 2011, according to the article. He also pleaded guilty to drinking alcohol at an underage party last year.
