Franconia Man Charged with Horsham Burglaries

Ryan Weeks faces 44 counts related to numerous alleged daytime burglaries.

A Franconia Township man has been arrested as the alleged culprit in numerous daytime burglaries in Horsham, Hatfield and Franconia townships.

Ryan Weeks, 31, of the 100 block of Forrest Road, Franconia, has been charged by police with 44 charges related to burglaries.

Weeks faces eight felony counts of burglary, eight felony counts of criminal trespassing, eight counts of felony theft by unlawful taking, eight counts of felony receiving stolen property, 10 counts of use or possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of criminal attempted burglary.

Weeks was arraigned April 4 before Deatelhauser and remanded to Montgomery County prison in lieu of $100,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is set for April 12 at 2:30 p.m. before District Judge Ken Deatelhauser.

Police said Weeks admitted to Hatfield Township detectives that he was responsible for numerous burglaries throughout the three municipalities.

Police said the investigation is ongoing as Hatfield Township Police are in possession of several hundred pieces of jewelry and assorted coins with unknown ownership.

Hatfield Township Police said the township had experienced multiple daytime residential burglaries, beginning in late January.

Through the investigation, it was determined that neighboring jurisdictions were also experiencing similar burglaries.

Police said Weeks was identified as a suspect after analyzing evidence left at one of the burglary scenes, police said.

On April 3, a burglary task force conducted surveillance and followed Weeks to a pawnshop in Philadelphia where Weeks was allegedly seen selling a large quantity of female jewelry, police said.

Week was arrested later in the day while traveling in Hatfield Township.

Detectives searched Weeks’ home and vehicle and found suspected stolen jewelry, coins and small antiques, police said.
