Horsham Soccer Ex-Treasurer Accused of Stealing Waives Preliminary Hearing
Authorities say Daniel Heinze stole more than $64,000 from the Horsham Soccer Association while he served as treasurer.
Daniel Heinze, the former Horsham Soccer Association treasurer accused of stealing more than $64,000, waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday, court documents show.
Heinze, 50, of Ambler has been charged with multiple counts of felony theft, receiving stolen property, forgery and related charges for taking $64,292 from the association over the course of four years, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney's office.
He is scheduled for a formal arraignment on July 2. Heinze is free on $100,000 unsecured bail.

Heinze served as treasurer of the organization from November 2009 to November 2013. Officials said an investigation revealed that throughout that time, he wrote 23 checks from the soccer association’s account and deposited them into his personal bank accounts.
He forged the signatures of association presidents and altered the financial records to hide the deposits into his accounts, officials said.

The discrepancies were noticed as the association’s current board was doing a 2013 year-end financial review. The association notified Horsham Township Police.
