Fire Department Reports to Laundromat Fire in Hatboro

A clothes dryer caught fire in a building near North York Road and East Monument Avenue.

reported to the scene of a working fire at a one-story laundromat located near North York Road and East Monument Avenue in Hatboro on Friday around 4:30 p.m.

Some items caught on fire in the dryer and the flames went up into the ceiling, according to Enterprise Fire Company Chief Keith Gordon.

He said the machine and part of the ceiling was damaged and there was some smoke damage to the consignment shop next door, but the overall damage was minimal.

No one was injured and the fire was brought under control in a few minutes, Gordon said. A few of the machines had to be taken out of service, Gordon said.
