A 53-year-old New Britain man who works as an exterminator has been charged with burglary for allegedly burglarizing a Meetinghouse Road home, Horsham Township Police said.
Scott Wills was arraigned before Judge Zucker and was remanded to Montgomery County Prison in lieu of bail following the Oct. 19 burglary, which occurred at about 12:50 p.m., police said.
Upon responding to the residence, police discovered a rear door with the window smashed out. Police said a neighbor saw someone run toward the woods at the rear of the property.
Officers checked in the immediate area then set up a perimeter. A canine from Cheltenham Police Department responded. An extensive track was done, but Wills was not located. Officers cleared the immediate area and set up surveillance on a vehicle believed to belong to the suspect. At 4:18 p.m., Wills was observed attempting to return to his vehicle and was taken into custody at that time.
Property found in Wills’ vehicle leads authorities to believe he has committed other burglaries, police said. Wills was employed by an exterminator business which may have enabled him to be at homes or in neighborhoods without causing concern, police said.
