Early Morning Fire Under Investigation

A York Road office building was damaged in a early morning blaze that is still under investigation.

The cause of a fire at the 444 North York Road Professional Offices building in Hatboro is under investigation at this hour, authorities said.

A police incident report indicated that no natural cause was discovered by investigators and the blaze was still being looked into.

“Right now it’s unknown, and it’s under investigation,” said Deputy Fire Marshal Joe Reading.

According to police, the fire was reported at 2:07 a.m. and was extinguished a short time later. The fire was believed to have began at a door on the side of the building, only damaging a small portion of the NovaCare Rehabilitation office.

By mid-afternoon Wednesday, contractors were at the damaged facility. Tarp covered the fire-damaged doorway and a portion of the building’s roof.

Reading speculated that the building was not extensively damaged.

Authorities had to force entry into the building to confirm the flames had not spread into the offices, police said.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, police confirmed.
