Double Visions Alleged Gunman Forbidden to Enter Horsham 'Under Any Circumstances'

The Warrington man charged with attempted murder stemming from last month's double shooting at Double Visions on Thursday waived his preliminary hearing.

The 55-year-old Warrington man who was charged with last month's double shooting at a Horsham strip club "can not be in Horsham under any circumstances," a judge ruled Thursday morning.

During a videoconference from the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, the gray-haired Joseph Oesterle Thiers, clad in a red jumpsuit and sitting next to his defense attorney, Sean Cullen, listened to the conditions that District Judge Harry J. Nesbitt III placed upon him - should he be able to post his $2.5 million bail.

"If he gets out, I don't want him to be here," Nesbitt said following the brief court proceeding.

Thiers, who was allegedly asked by management twice to leave Double Visions on the night of Oct. 20, prior to the shooting, also can have "no contact whatsoever" with the two shooting victims and club managers, Phil and Jason Catagnus.

Following the shooting, police allege that Thiers led them on a high-speed chase which ended with shots fired at police in Warrington Township, Bucks County.

A prosecutor said Thursday that Bucks County authorities have given the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office permission to prosecute Thiers on all of the charges, even though some of the alleged crimes occurred in Bucks County.

Victims, witnesses and family members filled the judge's courtroom on Thursday for what was supposed to have been Thiers' preliminary hearing.

Thiers instead waived Thursday's hearing and awaits a formal arraignment next month in Montgomery County Court.

He is being held on $2.5 million bail on a host of charges, including four felony counts of attempted homicide, 14 felony counts of aggravated assault, a felony count of fleeing or attempting to elude officer, as well as more than two dozen misdemeanor charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and terroristic threats.
