Car Hits Store, Causes Structural Damage

A Willow Grove man accidentally crashed into a Hatboro convenience store Wednesday night, according to police.

A Hatboro convenience store sustained structural damage after a driver, while attempting to park his car, accidentally depressed the accelerator pedal causing the vehicle to strike a steel support beam and a brick wall. 

The 7:07 p.m. crash Wednesday at Dollar Global Mini Mart, which is situated in the same plaza as Produce Junctionon South York Road, caused police, code enforcement and Enterprise Fire Co. officials to block off the area because of structural damage, according to Hatboro Police Chief James Gardner.

No charges are expected to be filed against the 49-year-old Willow Grove man who unintentionally drove his 2010 Cadillac into the building while trying to park in an off-street parking space, according to Gardner.

No one was injured as a result of the crash.
