Assault of Infant Gets Hatboro Man 3 Years Probation

Jarrett Tourish, 23, of Hatboro, was sentenced to three years probation for physically abusing his 5-month-old son in November 2011.

A Hatboro father who expressed remorse on Patch for the "horrible thing" he did in physically abusing his infant son, has been sentenced to three years of probation, according to Phillyburbs.com

Jarrett T. Tourish, 23, of the 300 block of North York Road, in November 2011 confessed to Hatboro Police that he threw his baby down on a crib and struck the infant repeatedly because he would not stop crying.

Following the Nov. 10, 2011 incident, the infant’s mother, Tourish’s wife, had noticed bruising on the child and took him for medical treatment, police said. He was admitted to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia with injuries consistent with being physically assaulted, police said. The child was released from the hospital several days later.

Tourish was ordered to attend anger management and parenting classes stemming from the abuse. A commenter who claimed to be Tourish expressed remorse on a previous Patch article, sharing, "it seems like prison is better than what I deserve."

"Not a second goes by where I don't feel the pain from the horrible thing I've done," Tourish wrote in the comment. "I did something that even I believe is unforgivable, but what this article doesn't tell you, is that I love my son and I'll do anything to make this right. Staying locked up in prison is a cowards move. The most painful and difficult course is facing my problems head-on."
