Alleged Gunpoint 'Victim' Comes Clean

A Horsham man has been charged with making false reports to police in which he accused another person of assaulting him at gunpoint.

A 61-year-old Horsham man has been charged with allegedly wrongly accusing someone of an assault at gunpoint.

Jimmy E. George, of Meetinghouse Road, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with two counts of making false reports to law enforcement stemming from his alleged report on Dec. 2 that he was assaulted at gunpoint by an associate.

George provided a written statement describing the alleged assault, and as a result, the associate was charged criminally, according to police.

Upon the individual's arrest, the associate told police that George had lied about his involvement in the assault, according to police. Telephone records obtained by the police department confirmed that the individual charged with assaulting George was not in Horsham at the time the alleged assault occurred.

George was arraigned before district magistrate Harry J. Nesbitt III and posted the $5,000 unsecured bail.
