Disappointment with Groupon

I wanted to vent about a recent experience with Groupon.

 A Groupon certificate that I purchased for Ben & Irv’s Restaurant expired before I could use it.

 I contacted customer service and explained to them that they should have sent me a reminder that the certificate was expiring about a week before it expired.  They expressed that it is their policy not to issue credit on expired certificates…..and that the face value of $10.00 should still be honored by the establishment.

 Since they did not send a reminder…and the certificate expired….I asked their customer service dept to issue me a full credit in the amount of $20.00 to my account.

 They refused to do so.

 I am really disappointed in Groupon and will need to think long and hard whether I will purchase certificates from them in the future.
