Russell Alden, 80, Hatboro High Class of 1951

Adlen was an employee in the accounting department of Fisher and Porter for many years.

Russell “Russ” Alden, of Hatboro and Ivyland, died Saturday, April 12. He was 80. Born in Hatboro, he was the son of the late Russell E. and Marjorie (Cook) Alden.

Russ was a graduate of Hatboro High School, as a member of the class of 1951. He lettered in football, basketball and baseball. He attended Washington and Jefferson University and later received a bachelor's degree in business administration from LaSalle University.

He was an employee in the accounting department of Fisher and Porter for many years. He retired in 1988. He is survived by his son, Scott Alden (Maria); his adoring grandchildren, Ashley, Nicole and Matthew and his brother, Robert Alden. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Frances Pool, and his daughter, Frances "Fitzi" Alden.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation after 11 am, Thursday, April 17, in James R. Baskwill Funeral Home, 20 W Montgomery Ave (half block west of York Rd), Hatboro, where his funeral service will be held at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Hatboro Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Bucks County SPCA, P.O. Box 277, Lahaska, PA 18931.
