Joan Mary Sekula of Hatboro, passed away April 18 after a short battle with cancer. She was 61.
She was born to the late Clement Clarhaut and Joan (Fagan) Clarhaut, February 3, 1953 in Philadelphia. She graduated from George Washington High School and went on to work as a ward clerk at Holy Redeemer Hospital where she often said she experienced some of the best times of her life. She retired in 1983 to raise her family.
Joan is survived by her faithful husband, Michael, and loving children Jennifer (Michael) and Michelle (John). She is also survived by sisters Maryanne, Terry, Kathleen, Helen, Michelle, Colleen, and brothers Clement "Bubs", Dennis, and 37 nieces and nephews.
Joan and Mike would have celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary next month.
Joan's family will greet friends on Thursday, April 24 at St. John Bosco Church, 215 E. County Line Rd. Calling hours begin at 9:30 AM followed by her Mass of Resurrection at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, her family is requesting donations in Joan's memory be made to Abington Hospice at Warminster, 225 Newtown Rd., Warminster, PA 18974.
