Harry Werner, Long-Time St. John's Churchgoer Dies

Funeral arrangements have been set for Harry A. Werner, or Horsham.

Harry A. Werner of Horsham died on Dec. 23. He was 80.

Werner had a passion for fishing and was active in Horsham Boy Scouts Troop 668. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hatboro for 52 years where he was active in all church activities. His home was a beloved project. He was always remodeling and enjoyed all wood working.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Harry and Jane Werner. He was a 1953 graduate of Cheltenham High School and attended Penn State University. He was a tool maker for 25 years and prior to retiring in 1996, he was employed as a manufacturing engineer for Crown Cork and Seal. 

He was the husband of Isabella Werner with whom he had shared 58 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, Werner is survived by his son Allan (Lisa) of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jane Werner of Hatboro, two grandchildren, Ashley and Michael Werner.

Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Saturday after 10 a.m. in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 505 N. York Road, Hatboro and are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 a.m. His interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Werner's name to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
