Hatboro Chamber Seeking Volunteers for Holiday Parade

The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers fro the 52nd annual Hatboro Holiday Parade.

How do you get 5,000 people, cars, dogs, fire engines, marching bands and floats lined up and ready to make their way down York Road through the middle of Hatboro? With lots of help!

The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers to lend a hand with the 52nd Annual Hatboro Holiday Parade slated for November 18 at 2 p.m.

Volunteers are needed from noon to 3:30 p.m. while the parade is being staged on York Road. Duties include checking in parade participants, organizing them in the line of march and keeping them in the proper order.

It's a lot of fun and a great way to be a part of this long-time Hatboro tradition.

Anyone 16 or older that can help should contact the Chamber office at 215-956-9540 or email mbaker@hatborochamber.org.

What holiday are we celebrating? Has Hatboro sadly gone down the politically correct road? It's been the Christmas parade as long as I can remember.

I use to really like the Christmas Parade but sometime during the past decade the number of vendors walking in front of you hawking their goods from China and the number of people who do not have respect for others have grown too numerous. I stopped going and now my son comes back home after the parade with his son with the same complaints. I guess time changes things and not always for the better.
