It’s that time of year for cook-outs and pool parties. When celebrating the 4th of July, prepare to make the right food choices BEFORE arriving to the party. Knowing that you will make a choice ahead of time eliminates the need to see what you are craving.

For instance, consider having a turkey burger with fresh veggies like lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and onions—all without the roll. Go for grilled veggies instead of pasta salad. If you have your heart set on the pasta or potato salad, try just adding a small amount to your plate. Sometimes, just having a taste will satisfy that craving without derailing your goals.
