West Laurel Hill Cemetery Hosting 'Death Café'

Want to spend part of your life talking about death?

West Laurel Hill Cemetery submitted the following news release:

A first on the Main Line—West Laurel Hill Cemetery is hosting its first Death Café. Now a growing trend in the United States, Death Cafés adopt a European "salon" model of free-flowing conversation around the topic of death-from-any-angle. In smaller groups of four or five, this is an opportunity for people to explore their own notions on death and life in an intimate setting.

Leading the discussion will be Rachel Zeldin and Simcha Raphael. Zeldin is pioneering technology in funeral planning. She founded and manages I'm Sorry to Hear, the TripAdvisor of funeral planning, with the goals of simplifying decision-making in funeral planning, driving transparency in funeral planning, and encouraging sharing of experiences amongst the community. Raphael is a death awareness educator and a bereavement counselor. He is the Director of DA'AT Institute for Death Awareness, Advocacy and Training.

The event will be held at Bringhurst Funeral Home located on the grounds of West Laurel Hill Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd. It will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 11 and will begin at 7 p.m.  RSVP online
