More than 30 needy Horsham families will benefit from the $3,000 proceeds collected from last month's Horsham Freezer 5K run.

Mark Hudson, the co-chair of Horsham Township's second annual run, said a $3,000 donation is being made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society reviews the needs of families they are helping and will make sure funds are going toward things that are really needed, officials said.

Close to 300 runners and walkers came out for the township's event on Dec. 15 and plans are already underway for the third annual Freezer 5K on Dec. 14.
