School Board Remains Republican-Controlled

Hatboro and Horsham voters maintained the Republican rule of the school board.

Two new faces will join the Hatboro-Horsham School Board in the coming year, but the board will maintain its Republican control, according to unofficial Montgomery County election results.

Republican Eric Coombs, who had served on the school board previously, was the top vote-getter in Tuesday's election, claiming 4,016 votes, according to the county's unofficial results. Besides Coombs, Republican newcomer James Greenhalgh, who netted 3,804 votes in Tuesday's race, according to the county's unofficial election results, will be the new face on the Hatboro-Horsham School Board in the coming year.

Their running mates, Republican incumbents Russell Bleiler (3,777 votes), Marian McCouch (3,866 votes) and Lou Polaneczky (3,981 votes) defeated Democratic challengers Theresa Brown (2,837 votes), Susan Shinton (2,850 votes), Carolyn Kushner (2,935 votes), Sharon Labow (2,811 votes) and Wendy Kephart (2,865 votes), according to unofficial election results.
