Hatboro Retains Hawkes as Mayor

Incumbent Norm Hawkes defeated Bill Godshall in Hatboro's mayoral race.

Hatboro Mayor Norm Hawkes defeated fellow Democrat Bill Godshall to keep his seat of eight years.

Hawkes, 74, who won the primary as a write-in on the Republican ticket, defeated Godshall 857 to 630, according to Montgomery County unofficial election results.

"I’m very happy the way the election went," Hawkes said Tuesday night.

Public safety will remain his main focus for the coming term, Hawkes told Patch.

"I want to keep Hatboro a safe place to shop, visit and live," Hawkes said.
