It’s time to celebrate America’s birthday. For those of you planning to stay local, Patch has found some great things happening this long holiday weekend.    

First Friday Hatboro

Where/When: Downtown Hatboro. Friday 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Southampton Days Country Fair 

 Where/When: , 1255 Second Street Pike, Southampton. Monday 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Why Go: Parade, crafts, bingo, food, children's games, amusement rides, fireworks

Pricing: At 6 p.m. there will be a general admission fee of $3 per person. Children 3 and under are free. This fee includes entry to the fair, concerts and fireworks

Peddler's Village 8th Annual Celebration of Freedom

Where/When: Routes 202 and 263, Lahaska. Saturday 4 to 10 p.m.

Why Go: Live entertainment, delicious picnic style favorites, and children’s crafts and activities round out this fun-filled family event. The fireworks display is at 9:30 pm. Rain or shine.

Pricing: Free admission and parking.

Fourth of July Community Picnic in the Park

Where/When: Valley Forge Park, 1400 N. Outer Line Drive, King of Prussia. Monday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Bring your picnic blanket and celebrate our nation's independence at Valley Forge's Fourth of July, Community Picnic in the Park! Enjoy children's craft activities, hear Founding Father Thomas Jefferson read the Declaration of Independence, and have the opportunity to add your John Hancock to it! Living history re-enactors.

Pricing: Free     

Independence Day Celebration - Fireworks Spectacular

Where/When: , 900 Highland Ave, Abington. Monday 9 p.m.

Why Go: The aerial fireworks spectacular begins around 9 p.m., July 4. The best place to see them is from the campus of Abington Junior/Senior High Schools.
