A Local Resource for Coping and Healing

A local psychotherapist is available to help families and individuals affected by parental alienation.

A few weeks ago I wrote to tell you about Linda Gottlieb, a
family therapist in New York who works with families, and individuals, but
is also working to help educate the courts about , and
parental alienation syndrome.

Today I want to tell you about someone who is much closer to
home, who is working to help families, individuals, and also
helping to spread awareness and education to other professionals, and the
general public.

Dr. Judith Pilla PhD, LSW, PMHCNS-BC, principal of Health
Bridge Associates, a private psychotherapy practice in King of Prussia has
worked intensively for more than 10 years with victims of parental alienation,
including targeted parents, extended family members, children, adolescents, and
adults who have been co-opted as alienators by one parent against the other.
She also conducts research and publishes in the fields of parental alienation, psychiatry, and family relationship dynamics. Pilla is not a legal expert or evaluator. Her practice is limited to treating the mental, emotional, interpersonal and social consequences of parental alienation.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Pilla myself recently to discuss my efforts at raising awareness, and was immediately impressed by her knowledge, understanding, and insight into the confusing world of parental alienation. In particular, her understanding of how children often feel, and react, when they are forced to live under the umbrella of alienating behaviors. She understands their pain, and how they develop their own internal coping methods to deal with the stress, which far too often includes shutting down their true feelings, and pushing a parent that loves and cares about them out of their lives. She is a local resource who truly understands.

For anyone who would like a chance to meet and hear Pilla provide a talk about how children are affected by parental alienation, please join the Pennsylvania Chapter of PAAO in welcoming her to the Annex Building of , on July 17 at 7 p.m.

The event is free of charge, and everyone is welcome. I would recommend that not just parents, and family members, but anyone that works with families, or children, or who knows someone who has experienced parental
alienating behaviors, and the damage they cause, please, care enough to take
the time to come to this event.
