GIANT/MARTIN’S help customers safely dispose of unwanted/expired medications

GIANT Food Stores and MARTIN’S Food Markets, in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and local law enforcement agencies, will again participate in the national “drug take-back” initiative on Saturday, October 26. Expired and unwanted medications can be brought into one of 42 participating GIANT and MARTIN’S locations from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

All medications will be disposed of in an environmentally-friendly manner at no cost to the customer. Personal information (for example, names and addresses) should be crossed out or removed. No sharps or syringes will be accepted. At the last “drug take-back” initiative held in April, participating GIANT/MARTIN’S stores collected 4,392 pounds of unwanted and expired medications.
