GIANT celebrates 90 years with in-store customer appreciation event on October 4

GIANT Food Stores and MARTIN’S Food Markets are inviting customers and community members to join them in celebrating its 90th anniversary. On Friday, October 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and also from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., GIANT/MARTIN’S will be handing out free slices of cake and free apple slices, while supplies last, to customers and community members at all of its 200 stores throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.

“Our valued customers are the reason we have been able to achieve this 90 year milestone of providing quality, selection and service,” said Rick Herring, president. “GIANT/MARTIN’S is proud to be a better neighbor in the 200 local communities we serve and on behalf of our more than 32,000 associates, thank you for shopping with us.”

GIANT/MARTIN’S has been celebrating its 90th anniversary by expanding the company’s “Living Here, Giving Here” community support program with 90 days of giving within the various communities they serve. Each of the company’s 200 stores conducted at least one random act of kindness throughout the summer and into the early fall. These acts, focused on helping eradicate hunger, improving the lives of children or building healthy communities, varied by community.
