In preparation for the upcoming flu season, GIANT Food Stores and MARTIN’S Food Markets have begun offering flu vaccinations at all of their in-store pharmacies. No appointment is needed and vaccinations are provided any time the pharmacy is open by GIANT/MARTIN’S trusted in-store pharmacists.

“Last year’s flu season was a particularly strong one and illustrated the importance of getting a flu shot annually,” said Leigh Shirley, director of pharmacy. “Flu vaccines are reformulated every year as the flu virus changes so just because you received a flu shot last year does not mean you are vaccinated for this year. The cost for the flu shot is $35 and most major insurance plans along with Medicare are accepted. Customers with a GIANT/MARTIN’S prescription savings card receive $10 off of the regular price of a flu shot. GIANT/MARTIN’S has also partnered with various health-related vendors to offer a free coupon book worth more than $40 in savings, while supplies last, to all customers who receive a flu shot. In addition, GIANT/MARTIN’S pharmacists are available to provide on-site flu clinics at workplaces and businesses throughout the community.
