Vacancy: Horsham Towne Square

What would you like to see fill the former Bryn and Dane's?

Tell us in the comments what you would like to see fill this vacancy.

Vacant: Several storefronts are available within Horsham Towne Square, a shopping center situated at Horsham and Norristown roads.

Description: The original location of Bryn and Dane's, as well as space previously leased by Encore Kitchens and Dance to the Music is empty.

Size: 5,000 square feet total

Zoning: C-2 (Commercial) Permitted uses include retail, restaurant, personal service shop, retail service shop (including bakeries, household appliance shops, clock, watch, or jewelry shop, custom tailoring, etc), banks, municipal building.

History: Joe Ventresca, the center’s owner since 1984, said Horsham Square Pharmacy had been located there until it was bought out by CVS. Neither of the businesses remain in the plaza, which is home to TheraPlay, Simply Twisted Frozen Yogurt, Bagel and Bread House and more.

The Challenge: “Just the economy in general. It’s hard for little ma and pas to get start up money,” Ventresca said.

Interest: Medical professional, banks, private offices and small companies have expressed interest in the storefronts.

Potential: “A handful of small businesses” serving the residents and other local businesses would be the perfect complement, according to Ventresca.

I feel Horsham has plenty of business campus buildings empty (Witmer & Dresher Rds., behind St. Catherine's; the old Pine Run center) just to name a few. Don't think our township powers are looking at a realistic world and especially wanting to put in more business buildings at the naval air station. Think they need to look outside the box for the future. Shopping centers we have plenty that aren't even fully occupied - maybe more techinal schools for students who aren't interested in college. Always need to plumbers, electricians, heating & air conditioning, mechanics and service employment that young people could be interested in if there was available avenues for them to persue.

This business campus is in need of an update. The ceilings are very low and the signs are way too small. Nothing survives.

The air base could be converted to a solar or windmill field - generate electric for all residence of the township and possibly earn money back from the electric company maybe even lower our taxes!
