Vacant: 220 S. York Road, Hatboro.

Description: The former Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce office, which is situated in the heart of the borough's downtown shopping district. 

Size: Approximately 2,000 square feet

Zoning: Commercial (one-story strip store, "no major food," according to Montgomery County Property Records

History: The space had been used as the chamber's office until earlier this month, when the relocated to the Red Barn Mall. 

The Challenge: None, according to Hatboro Main Street Manager Stephen Barth. "This building is fresh on the market and is in excellent condition. It had recently been renovated."

Interest: It is too soon to gauge interest, but Barth said the space offers great access to the borough's new municipal parking lot, one block from the train station and 200 feet from the SEPTA bus stop. Plus, Barth said 20,000 cars pass this "high visibility property" daily.

Potential: Barth said he envisions a coffeehouse with outside cafe tables in the courtyard or a retail outlet store.

I would love a wine and cheese shop that offers local wineries selections. It could also offer hard to find micro brews. This is just coming from my perspective. I am married with no kids. However people I know with little ones would love a Gymboree or Bounce U in that location.

Yes we do need more food establishments..just more upscale. Was a wonderful restuarant there back in the day called the franklin inn...what we don't need is more pizza, nails, or tatoos
