'Restaurant Impossible' to Film at Edibles

Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine has announced that an upcoming episode of 'Restaurant Impossible' on The Food Network will be filmed in Horsham.

Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine is bringing his "Restaurant Impossible" muscle to Horsham to help turn a struggling eatery into a success story.

Filming is expected to begin later this week at Edibles Restaurant & Pub, according to the business owner, who declined to give his name.

"I don’t really have much information," he said. "They’re keeping me in the dark."

The man, who said he's owned the Horsham Road restaurant for the last eight or nine years, said "business has been very so very slow" for the last four and a half years.

"We're financially in poor shape right now," he said. "If there’s no money, you can’t do anything to fix anything up. I don’t know how much more longer I could sustain this economy."

Irvine announced on his Facebook page this week that he was coming to Horsham for "another RI mission." The post does not share specifics of when, specifically Irvine and crew will be filming an episode of the popular Food Network TV show. The Edible's owner, too, declined to say when the restaurant makeover and filming would take place.

The Horsham filming could be occurring as soon as Friday and Saturday, according to a Craigslist posting on May 2.

"We are looking to put together a crew that will help with the renovation of the restaurant," according to the ad. "Design volunteers will be working closely with Food Network's celebrity chef Robert Irvine, HGTV's Lynn Kegan and Restaurant Impossible's construction manager, Tom Bury with the painting, crafting, construction, remodeling, cleaning, decorating etc. (depending on your skill set)."

According to The Food Network's Web site, "Restaurant Impossible," which is in its fifth season, works to "turn the tide of a failing restaurant" with $10,000 and two days for renovations, menu updates and staff retraining.

The Edibles owner said the exposure from the TV show "should be good" for his business.

"They’re going to make recommendations and I’m going to heed to whatever they think is going to be good for Edibles," he said. "I haven’t made any money in four and a half years."
