Power Update: 90% Restored; 16,337 to Go

Utility companies are predicting all, or most, of Montgomery County will restored to power by midnight tonight.

On Saturday, local utility companies restored power to about 25,000 customers, but they still have more than 16,000 to go.

In a press release Saturday night, PECO reported that 15,000 customers remained without power in Montgomery County. PPL had 1,190 and Met-Ed stated it had only 147 customers still in the dark.

Are you one of the last 16,000? How have you been coping?

In Montgomery County, Cheltenham, Abington, Upper Moreland, Lower Merion, and Plymouth, townships are the areas most impacted by power outages. PECO expects most of the remaining customers to have service restored by Sunday midnight

“I want to thank our customers for their patience and understanding as we continue to focus on safely restoring service across the region,” said Craig Adams, PECO President and CEO.  “We know it is hard to be without electric, especially for several days. I want to assure our customers that we will not stop until every last customer is restored.”

PECO set up customer information centers in the region where customers can speak with a PECO representative regarding their outage:

Sunday, Nov. 4, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

  • Best Buy, 1130 Easton Rd., Willow Grove, PA.

PECO encourages customers to contact the company at 1-800-841-4141 throughout the day for the most updated information regarding their outage.

Where was L.Moreland's emergency response plan with this crisis? There was none.Leaving people freezing in their homes is not a plan? This is a waterloo event for our so called new board. Nothing new. Thousands were without power and not one elected official went door to door in my dark street. The chairman of the commissioners and township mgr. should resign...Halloween was pushed when wires are hanging in our streets. This is a disgrace...
