Kasbah Cafe Closes Its Doors

Kasbah Cafe in Hatboro has closed its doors after little more than a year in business.

Five months after putting the South York Road business up for sale, the owners of a Mediterranean restaurant have closed up shop.

Kasbah Cafe, which had been in business in Hatboro for just over a year, announced on Friday that it had closed its doors.

"It is with great sorrow that Kasbah Cafe has closed its doors," read a message posted on the eatery's Facebook page. "We would like to thank all of our customers that spent time with us this past year. You made the year enjoyable."

Chef and owner Zach Ftouh told Patch in July that his need to move to Florida with his family prompted placement of an ad on Craigslist for the sale of equipment related to 50-seat Kasbah Cafe, 119 S. York Road.

At that time Ftouh had said that regardless of his departure the business would remain open.
