Hurley's Bar Passes 'Restaurant Impossible' Scrutiny

The newly named Corner Pub at Hurley's American Grille was one of the few things that celebrity chef Robert Irvine liked about the former Edibles Restaurant and Pub.

It was the site of the somewhat contentious scene on "Restaurant Impossible" where celebrity chef Robert Irvine told John Hurley Sr. he was failing as a business owner.

But what Irvine thought the Hurley family did well was run its bar, an extension of the former Edibles Restaurant and Pub, which was renamed Hurley's American Grille after Irvine and his Food Network crew from the popular television show "Restaurant Impossible" came to town in May for a three-day taping.

"They liked the bar," said Steve Hurley, the owner's nephew and general manager of Hurley's American Grille, which is located at 561 Horsham Road in Horsham.

Now dubbed The Corner Pub at Hurley's American Grille, Steve Hurley said the family recently put together a "nice martini menu," plans to refinish the table tops and bar areas and spruce it up a bit.

"We're going to tweak in here," he said.

But, not because Irvine said they needed to.
