Horsham Nursing Assistant Honored

Michelle Leach-Waters received the 2013 Phyllis Abramson Licht (PAL) award for her work at Madlyn and Leonard Abramson Center for Jewish Life.

A certified nursing assistant at Horsham-based Madlyn and Leonard Abramson Center for Jewish Life was recently recognized for providing exceptional care to the center's elderly residents.

Michelle Leach-Waters of Philadelphia received the 2013 Phyllis Abramson Licht (PAL) award. An Abramson Center employee of eight years, Leach-Waters was chosen for the award by Abramson Center residents, family members, and her co-workers in recognition of her kindness, uplifting demeanor and dependability, according to a press release.

The honor, which includes a cash gift and a luncheon held in the recipient’s honor, was established in 2004 by Dr. Licht to honor the memory of his late wife, Phyllis Abramson Licht, who appreciated the respectful care she received from healthcare workers as she faced terminal illness.

The award is presented each year to a nursing assistant who demonstrates excellence in providing compassionate and skilled care to Abramson Center for Jewish Life residents.
